Felt and Wire Stretcher

The felt and wire stretcher is the core tension control device for the forming fabric, press felt, and dryer fabric of paper machines. Its core function is to maintain constant tension of the fabric, compensate for elongation, prevent deviation and slippage, extend the life of the paper machine clothing, and ensure stable operation of the paper web.

Function of Felt and Wire Stretcher

1. Constant tension control: Compensate for thermal elongation, wet expansion and contraction, and wear elongation during the operation of the paper machine clothing, maintain the set tension, and avoid tension that is too low (slipping, wrinkling, deviation) or too high (tearing the fabric, roller surface wear, and increased energy consumption).

2. Automatic compensation adjustment: With the change of the length of the fabric, the tension roll is automatically/manually moved to maintain the stability of the circuit length.

3. Safety protection: tension over limit alarm, overload protection, to prevent felt and fabric breakage and equipment damage.

4. Cooperate with correction: Link with the felt and wire corrector to ensure smooth and centered operation of the paper machine clothing.
